  1. The claim of this article is that teens should have their parents notified before clinics give them birth control and other things.

The evidence that supports my claim is,"I suspect parental consent is on the to-do list for the upcoming year."

The reasoning for my evidence is that parents should be notified when their children purchase or ask for birth control.

  2. EVIDENCE-American Medical Association of more than 1,500 young women under 18 in 33 states suggested that teens would forgo birth control if they needed parental consent. Nearly 1-in-5 female teens surveyed at federally funded family planning clinics would either use no birth control or unreliable methods such as withdrawal if parental notification were required.

  3. Claim: Minors will have unprotected sex, if they have to notify their parents.
Evidence:70 percent of teens whose parents did not know they were at the clinic said they would not seek prescription birth control if parental consent were required
reasoning: By not seeking birth control, most teens will still have sex with or without it.

  7. claim-parents should know about teens getting birth control
evidence-60 percent of the girls surveyed said their parents knew they were visiting a family planning clinic.
reasoning-this shows a percent of teens girls who parents know they vist a family clinic which can get parents thinking---------aaliyah

  11. The claim is that if we make a law on having to notify parents when teens seek birth control then it'll encourage teens to have more unprotected sex. In the article it talks about how if family clinics have to notify parents when teens seek birth control it'll cause teens to have more unprotected sex so that parents won't know that teens are sexually active. The reasoning is that they fear that they would disappoint their parents if they find out and if they have unprotected sex then they won't feel that way.

  12. It's crazy how teens don't care for themselves and others and especially their future. Teens rather have unprotected sex then protected sex which by the name safer and you can have less chance to get a disease. But no they think is better to do it raw and get something that they'll regret. But then when they do get a disease they will go to the doctor with their parents who I would think are disapointed and won't probably trust their child anymore. They can also go to the clinic and get birth control or the Plan B pill anytime they want giving them the ability to keep having sex whenever they want.

  13. The claim for parental consent and notification for contraceptives is restricting teens access to reproductive health care by calling for parental consent or notification.
Evidence-A teen who seeks emergency contraception because of forced or unanticipated intercourse would need approval, even though emergency contraception must be used within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
Parental contact requirements discourage teens from seeking contraception, even though they may already be sexually active. Confidentiality can be a determining factor for teens deciding whether or not to seek contraceptive protection 2.

  14. CLAIM-teens under 18 should be able to go to clinics without parents consent

  15. The claim of this article is that teens should not have to have parent's consent to use sexual health resources. The evidence for this is according to American Medical Association, teens would forgo birth control if they needed parent consent. The reasoning for this is teens wouldn't want to tell their parents about their sex life so if their parents HAVE to be notified, they just won't take birth control at all. That leads to unsafe sex.
